The problem
The problem
Clinic appointment flows become confusing when approval, booking and queue state live in separate steps. The system needed clear role-based behavior for admins, doctors and patients.
What I built
What I built
I built the backend around role-based access control, doctor approval requests, appointment management and token generation based on appointment timing.
How it works
How it works
Express routes validate the request, JWT identifies the current user, Mongoose handles persistence, and role checks keep admin, doctor and patient actions separated.
Challenges and what I'd change
Challenges and what I'd change
Many small clinics still rely on manual appointment booking and paper-based queue management, leading to long waiting times, scheduling conflicts, and inefficient communication between patients, doctors, and administrators. The challenge was to build a centralized system that simplifies appointment scheduling while providing secure role-based access for different users.
Result
Result
Developed ClinicQueue, a full-stack medical appointment and queue management system that digitizes the appointment workflow. Patients can book appointments, doctors can manage their schedules, and administrators can verify doctors and oversee the platform. The system uses JWT-based authentication, role-based authorization, and automated appointment management to streamline clinic operations and improve the overall patient experience.
